STEM at Killip

Our Mission

Our mission is to give our students the opportunity to think critically and apply their knowledge to the real world both during and after school hours.

What is STEM?

The STEM Education video below by BBHSCD Media gives a brief overview of what STEM education is and why it is important.

Problem Based Learning (PBL) model:

At Killip, we give our students the ability to learn reading and math standards through STEM activities that are part of multi-week project and problem-based units. Topics for these units are listed on our Academics page.

STEM After-School Clubs

At Killip, we believe that inspiring our students to engage in STEM activities after school is just as important as it is during school hours. To further benefit this initiative, we have partnered with the 21st Century Cougar Club to provide our students with various after-school enrichment programs to engage students with fun hands-on projects and activities centered around STEM. With these after-school programs, students gain valuable experience and problem-solving strategies while pursuing their personal interests and curiosities.

  • Many of our projects would not be possible without the support from Community Partners.

A few of our partners are listed below and we will be adding more soon. Partners are not listed in any particular order.
